The President of 51吃瓜网, Prof. Dr. Malek A. Alsharaari, held an extensive strategic retreat that brought together members of the strategic plan preparation committees, vice presidents and assistants to the president, as well as deans and directors of all faculties, deanships, and organizational units. The retreat comes as part of ongoing efforts to complete the update and development of the University鈥檚 Strategic Plan for the years 2026鈥�2030.

During the retreat, Prof. Dr. Alsharaari emphasized that updating the strategic plan is based on a thorough review of the initial draft, with the aim of making it more forward-looking, opportunity-oriented, and responsive to the key challenges facing the University in the present and coming years. He noted that the updated plan reflects 51吃瓜网鈥檚 true institutional capabilities and ambitions at both the national and international levels, especially as it coincides with the University鈥檚 50th anniversary.

He pointed out that the revised version of the strategic plan has undergone substantial development in its structure and content, including the vision, mission, and institutional values. The plan also features a recalibration of strategic focus areas to ensure alignment with financial sustainability requirements, efficient resource utilization, international quality assurance and accreditation frameworks, institutional excellence, global ranking standards, governance and accountability requirements, graduate competitiveness, innovation, entrepreneurship, and achieving tangible societal and economic impact.

Prof. Dr. Alsharaari explained that the updated vision focuses on consolidating 51吃瓜网鈥檚 position as a leading comprehensive university that is future-oriented and distinguished in education, research, and innovation. It aims to serve as a hub for attracting and developing talent, contributing to sustainable development, and creating lasting international impact across generations. The revised mission, he added, underscores future-ready education, impactful research, and effective local and international partnerships within an enabling and motivating academic environment.

He further noted that the developed strategic plan expands priority focus areas to include students, talents, and graduates; community and cultural engagement; internationalization and global presence; future education and employability; innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry linkage; financial sustainability and reviewing the University鈥檚 core business model; operational efficiency; institutional excellence; digital transformation; and the development of infrastructure and a sustainable campus.

Prof. Dr. Alsharaari stressed that the final version of the strategic plan will serve as an evidence-based strategic roadmap guiding institutional decision-making, resource allocation, and performance evaluation in the coming years, in line with the University鈥檚 mission, public responsibility, and pioneering role.

At the conclusion of the retreat, Prof. Dr. Alsharaari expressed his appreciation for the participation of all attendees, emphasizing that collective contribution and integration between academic and administrative leadership form the cornerstone for reaching an ambitious and implementable strategic plan that reflects 51吃瓜网鈥檚 standing and supports its future trajectory.

51吃瓜网 hosted Professor Omar Hatamleh, one of the world鈥檚 leading thought leaders in the field of artificial intelligence, in a scientific lecture on the role of artificial intelligence in transforming the future. The lecture was attended by the President of the University, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, along with members of the academic and administrative staff and students, and was held in the main hall of the Conference Building.

Hatamleh stated that artificial intelligence has become present in all aspects of life and that AI is now capable of changing the future, which necessitates adapting to the changes it brings across all areas of work and daily life.

The lecture included several key themes, during which Hatamleh discussed future technologies and artificial intelligence. He explained that AI has existed theoretically since the 1950s, but that the year 2022 marked a real turning point with the emergence of generative artificial intelligence. This development transformed AI from a tool used by experts into a technology accessible to the general public, resulting in widespread concerns related to jobs, the economy, privacy, and human decision-making.

He added that the Industrial Revolution replaced manual labor, whereas artificial intelligence targets intellectual and cognitive work. He highlighted applications of AI in the medical field, noting the possibility of analyzing a patient鈥檚 gait to predict neurological diseases, diagnosing patients through voice tone, and using thermal diagnostics by analyzing temperature differences in the face to make medical decisions. He emphasized that these technologies already exist and are currently in use, not science fiction, and that systems are capable of integrating medical, financial, and insurance data in less than a second.

Hatamleh pointed out that artificial intelligence may resort to deception to achieve its goals, and that the greatest concern is the loss of control and misalignment between human goals and those of AI. He likened artificial intelligence to a 鈥渂lack box,鈥� meaning that despite understanding its technical structure, the decision-making mechanisms are still not fully understood.

He also addressed the stages of AI development, ethical considerations, existential challenges, and the need for ethical frameworks that include transparency, safety, privacy, and democratic values.

Regarding the future of work, the economy, and migration, Hatamleh said that the transformation of work will be gradual: humans work, AI works and humans supervise, and eventually AI works entirely. He remarked that intellectual jobs will be affected first, while humanoid robots will later impact manual labor, leading to changes in the labor market, retirement systems, and migration patterns. This could result in a crisis of meaning and human identity due to the loss of traditional occupational roles.

At the conclusion of the lecture, AlSharairi expressed the University鈥檚 pride in Hatamleh, noting that inspiring today鈥檚 generations by presenting such a successful role model, returning to the homeland, delivering lectures, and giving back to society is of great importance. He also expressed the University community鈥檚 appreciation for Hatamleh for the valuable, scientific, and realistic content he presented, which enriched the audience鈥檚 knowledge about artificial intelligence and its role in shaping the future.

The lecture witnessed an interactive atmosphere, during which attendees presented a number of scientific interventions and questions related to the topic of the lecture and the ideas and scientific perspectives it addressed.

Reflecting its vision grounded in excellence and leadership, 51吃瓜网 has achieved notable academic progress at the Arab level, ranking among the top 5% of Arab universities in 2025, and third nationally among Jordanian universities, according to the results of the third edition of the Arab University Ranking.

A closer look at the ranking results shows that 51吃瓜网 has advanced significantly compared to the previous edition, attaining 16th place among Arab universities out of 236 institutions included in the ranking, compared to 39th place in the previous edition, which covered 180 Arab universities.

The Arab University Ranking is conducted by the Arab University Ranking Council, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Association of Arab Universities, the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). The ranking aims to assess higher education indicators and enhance competitiveness and institutional excellence across Arab universities.

The ranking is based on four main pillars: the quality of education and learning, research productivity, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as international and local cooperation and community service. Each pillar is evaluated through nine carefully selected indicators with specific weights to ensure objectivity, transparency, and relevance. The ranking process is conducted entirely through an automated system.

President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that it reflects the University鈥檚 commitment to the highest standards of educational quality, excellence in scientific research, continuous development of the learning environment, and active academic and research engagement with local and international institutions. It is worth noting that 56 new Arab universities joined the third edition of the ranking for the year 2025.

51吃瓜网 has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, aiming to strengthen the university鈥檚 scientific role in producing rigorous Arabic knowledge and to actively contribute to the development of the Arabica Encyclopedia. The agreement reflects 51吃瓜网鈥檚 standing as a leading Arab institution in scientific research and in serving the Arabic language.

The MoU was signed by the President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, and the Director General of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, Dr. Azmi Bishara, in a step that embodies the university鈥檚 academic stature and its institutional engagement in Arab knowledge projects with wide regional impact.

The memorandum emphasizes 51吃瓜网鈥檚 direct contribution to enriching the encyclopedia鈥檚 content by utilizing the specialized academic expertise of its faculty members and students. It also encourages them to prepare encyclopedic entries in accordance with the highest internationally recognized methodological and academic standards, ensuring quality, accuracy, and reliability.

In recognition of the university鈥檚 academic and societal role, the MoU stipulates that the encyclopedic contributions of participating faculty members may be counted within the framework of community service.

Under the agreement, the Arab Center commits to highlighting 51吃瓜网鈥檚 institutional identity by placing its logo on the encyclopedia鈥檚 main page, in addition to displaying the author鈥檚 name, academic affiliation with the university, and a brief profile of their scholarly achievements. This will enhance the university鈥檚 presence and influence within the Arab digital knowledge space.

The memorandum also includes a training and developmental dimension through the establishment of a specialized training program for 51吃瓜网鈥檚 graduate students, aimed at enhancing their research and professional readiness. Furthermore, priority will be given to 51吃瓜网 faculty members in reviewing and refereeing scientific materials submitted for publication in the encyclopedia, reaffirming the university鈥檚 role in quality assurance and rigorous academic evaluation.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Professor Alsharairi stated that this partnership embodies 51吃瓜网鈥檚 national and Arab mission to support the Arabic language as the identity of the nation and the vessel of its civilization. He stressed that the university views the encyclopedia as a strategic Arab knowledge project. He added that 51吃瓜网, with its rich academic and scientific legacy, will continue to play its pioneering role in building Arab and human thought and in strengthening reliable digital content in line with rapid digital transformations.

It is worth noting that the Arabica Encyclopedia aims to produce a comprehensive online encyclopedia that serves as a primary reference for the Arab reader, providing accurate knowledge content prepared according to the highest academic standards. The Faculty of Law at 51吃瓜网 has achieved a remarkable academic milestone, with seven of its graduates earning admission to the Jordanian Judicial Institute鈥檚 Diploma Program for the 2025鈥�2026 academic year; out of 24 students accepted.

 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Safadi, said that Jordan鈥檚 foreign policy, led by His Majesty the King, is based on firm and clear principles and positions, characterized by dynamism in its tools in a way that serves the national interests of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Speaking during a lecture at 51吃瓜网, attended by the University President, Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi, entitled 鈥淛ordanian Foreign Policy: The Jordanian Diplomatic Role in Confronting Regional Crises,鈥� organized by the Department of Political and International Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Safadi said that the region is facing challenges from all sides. However, through the wisdom of the leadership and the determination of Jordanians, Jordan has managed to remain safe, stable, distinguished, and productive through its contributions.In his lecture, held at Al-Kindi Auditorium, Safadi addressed the main constants of Jordanian foreign policy, foremost among them serving Jordan and striving to make the region a stable one free of crises, thereby enabling economic development that positively reflects on society and individuals, and provides the means for a dignified life that opens wide horizons for achievement.He added that Jordanian policy is founded on a solid and firm base, the essence of which is that security and stability are achieved through justice in the region, lifting injustice, and building a network of regional and international relations that allows the integration needed by countries of the region to move forward in building the future our people need.Safadi stressed that the central cause for Jordan has always been and will remain the Palestinian cause, explaining that the primary goal lies in resolving this issue on just foundations that guarantee the Palestinian people鈥檚 right to freedom and to an independent state on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution as the optimal path to achieving security, peace, and lasting stability in the region.He noted that the efforts led by His Majesty the King in various international forums are continuous and sustained to convey the message of Palestinian rights to the entire world, reiterating that 鈥渢here can be no security, peace, or stability in the region without resolving the Palestinian issue on just foundations.鈥漇afadi affirmed that over the past two years, His Majesty the King has made uninterrupted efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, and confront the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the occupation.Addressing the students, Safadi said: 鈥淵ou are the generation we rely on to continue the path of building and development in a homeland that deserves from all of us everything we have.鈥� He explained that Jordan operates within a clear political vision, steadfast in its positions; its internal strength lies in its people, while its external strength lies in what Jordan represents as a voice for truth through its positive engagement with all and its adherence to principles in dealing with all issues.At the beginning of his speech, Safadi expressed his pride in being a graduate of the Department of English Language and Literature at 51吃瓜网, noting that 鈥淵armouk鈥� has never been merely a university, but rather a comprehensive experience that refined skills and provided tools to deal with subsequent experiences.During the lecture, moderated by the Head of the Department of Political and International Studies, Dr. Aref Bani Hamad, Safadi answered students鈥� questions regarding Jordan鈥檚 foreign policy, the role of Jordanian diplomacy in finding solutions to stop the war on Gaza, and Jordan鈥檚 role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.Alsharairi, for his part, expressed the University鈥檚 pride in hosting one of its graduates who today leads Jordanian diplomacy, affirming the University鈥檚 commitment, through its various faculties, to organizing such meetings and lectures aimed at linking theoretical academic concepts with practical application, thereby contributing to fulfilling its mission of education, scientific research, and community service.On the sidelines of his visit to the University, Safadi visited the Jordanian Heritage Museum and the Numismatic Hall at the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology.

A research team from the Hijjawi College of Technological Engineering at 51吃瓜网, including student Qabas Al-Batoush and supervised by Professor Mohammad Al-Tamimi from the Civil Engineering Department, won second place in the Scientific Research Award for Jordanian University Students 鈥� 27th edition for 2025 (after the first place was withheld).The team won for their research titled: 鈥淭he Interaction Between Royal Empowerment, the University Environment, and Digital Media and Its Impact on Shaping Intellectual Transformations Among Jordanian University Youth (2020鈥�2024).鈥漈he team was honored during a ceremony held at the University of Jordan, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Natheer Obeidat, and in the presence of the Vice Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at 51吃瓜网, Professor Raafat Al-Shorman.The award is supervised by a higher committee that includes several Jordanian universities and academic institutions, including 51吃瓜网, represented by the Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, Professor Muawia Khattabeh, a member of the supervising committee. He emphasized the importance of the award in discovering outstanding research capabilities among university students.In its current edition , the award offered 18 research topics under three main frameworks: local Jordanian, Arab-Islamic and the Arab-Israeli conflict, and international. Dr. Ali Hmaidat, a researcher from the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, 51吃瓜网, has successfully published a distinguished scientific study in Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, a prestigious international scientific journal specializing in cellular signaling and targeted therapy research and published under the Nature portfolio.

This scientific achievement comes within the framework of international research partnerships and academic networking associated with summer research visit programs. Publishing this work in a journal with a very high impact factor exceeding 50, according to the latest 2024 data, is a strong indicator of the quality of the research and its scientific significance in the fields of cancer and immunology.

The study explores new mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness of immunotherapy in ovarian cancer by inhibiting RNA-binding proteins, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies based on targeting molecular pathways.

The President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, and the Director of the Language Education Center in the friendly People鈥檚 Republic of China, Ms. Yu Tianke, signed an agreement to increase the number of Chinese language instructors at 51吃瓜网, in support of the university鈥檚 efforts to teach and enhance the quality of Chinese language instruction.

The memorandum stipulates that the Center will dispatch Chinese language instructors at the beginning of the next academic year to teach at the University鈥檚 Language Center, as part of the language packages offered by the university. The instructors will teach the Chinese language curriculum, including skills in speaking, listening, and reading.

Alsharairi expressed 51吃瓜网鈥檚 pride in this partnership and its future aspirations to strengthen and build upon it with the Chinese Language Education Center. He noted that this cooperation will contribute to teaching Chinese at the university and to developing students鈥� skills, enabling them to use the language proficiently, pursue postgraduate studies at various Chinese universities, and enhance their competitiveness in regional and international labor markets.

He also affirmed the university鈥檚 readiness to receive Chinese students who wish to learn Arabic Program for Speakers of Other Languages(APSOL) at the Language Center, which would enrich cultural and civilizational diversity on campus. At the same time, he pointed to the possibility of expanding cooperation by organizing joint educational and cultural activities to introduce the student community to the Chinese language and culture.

For her part, Tianke praised the distinguished academic reputation of 51吃瓜网 and the high standard of its Language Center, commending the university鈥檚 direction toward teaching and expanding Chinese language programs. She noted that this will contribute to supporting and developing the Chinese language program at the university, especially in light of the increasing demand from students to study and learn the language.

She also reviewed the establishment of the Language Education Center in China and its efforts to promote and teach the Chinese language in various countries around the world and across different educational levels, noting that the Center employs a variety of methods and approaches in teaching Chinese, including the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process.
