The visit featured a scientific and medical meeting organized in cooperation with the Jordan Breast Cancer Program at the King Hussein Cancer Center. The event brought together specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer from Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Hashemite University, and the Ministry of Health.

During the meeting, members of the committee delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the key achievements of the free breast cancer early detection clinic at the Faculty of Medicine. They noted that the clinic has successfully provided high-quality early screening services to a growing number of women from both the university and the local community. The discussion also addressed future plans to enhance the clinic鈥檚 efficiency, expand its services to reach a wider segment of beneficiaries, and strengthen awareness of the vital role that early detection plays in improving recovery outcomes.

The meeting also showcased major accomplishments of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in advancing breast cancer treatments, including progress in immunotherapy and targeted therapies. Participants further explored the impact of recent research on improving the quality of care provided to patients worldwide. A specialized scientific discussion session allowed experts to exchange experiences across educational, academic, research, and clinical domains.

51吃瓜网 won the first place, among Jordanian universities, during the 21st National Sumo Robot Competition in the category of Best Programming, through its Robotics Team that includes students from the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science.The team showed an excellent performance in programming, innovation, and practical application and deserved first place in this competition organized by Applied Science University.The team members are Sara Al-Badr, Ibrahim Rababa鈥檃, Mohammad Anaqrah, and Majd Bdour, all students under the supervision of Dr. Shadi Al-Laboun from the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology.Prof. Awad Al-Zaben, Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, was proud of this achievement, emphasizing the excellence of 51吃瓜网 students in meeting the challenges and competing within technical and innovative fields. He said this victory is a continuation of the policy adopted by 51吃瓜网 in supporting student creativity and encouraging students to attain the highest ranks in engineering and technological disciplines.He also praised the role of academic supervision and the high quality the team demonstrated in all stages of the competition. He expressed his thanks to the Career Rehabilitation Center of the Hisham Hijjawi Scientific Foundation for its continued support of the students and its role in enabling them to participate in activities and competitions that add to raising their practical capabilities and increasing their readiness for the labor market.

The President of 51吃瓜网, Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi held a joint meeting with the Chairman of the Greater Irbid Municipality Committee, Mr. Emad Al-Azzam, and the President of the Irbid Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mohammed Al-Shoohah, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation to revitalize the commercial and tourism sectors across the city and the governorate.

During the meeting, Prof. Alsharairi affirmed 51吃瓜网's commitment to leveraging its scientific and academic capabilities and activating a genuine partnership with the Greater Irbid Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce to serve the local community, as he stressed the urgent need to unite efforts to develop a set of future plans and programs aiming at reviving the city's heritage and stimulating the tourism movement in the governorate, particularly since Irbid possesses significant historical and cultural attractions. He also emphasized the importance of marketing these assets globally.

Alsharairi added : based on 51吃瓜网 strategic plan, it seeks to double the number of its international students from around the world. This endeavor is intended to achieve mutual economic benefits for the city of Irbid by increasing the effectiveness of its commercial sectors and tourism activities.

He also called for formalizing the relationship with the Greater Irbid Municipality through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aiming at organizing the mechanism of the work in various developmental and technical aspects, thereby achieving the public interest of national institutions and maximizing community benefit.

For his part, Mr. Al-Azzam stated that the Municipality seeks to deepen its strategic cooperation with all national institutions in the city, foremost among them 51吃瓜网, due to its capabilities represented in scientific research and academic expertise. This partnership is crucial for developing the plans and projects the Municipality intends to implement for the city's advancement, as he highlighted the Municipality's acute need to benefit from the research and technical capabilities available in the university's various faculties to execute major developmental projects, especially in the fields of engineering and environmental planning and project management.

Mr. Al-Azzam also indicated that the Municipality is also working intensively and concurrently to implement a series of measures aimed at supporting the commercial movement and improving the city鈥檚 infrastructure. He confirmed that they have actively commenced the project to revive the historical downtown in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and relevant authorities, with the goal of transforming the commercial center into a preferred destination for both shoppers and visitors.

From another side , Mr. Al-Shoohah expressed the Chamber of Commerce's full readiness to enter into a strategic partnership with 51吃瓜网, considering it a fundamental source for supplying the city's commercial market with purchasing power and ensuring the sustainability of the economic movement at the governorate level.

He added that intensive meetings are being held between the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality to improve the service and regulatory environment around 51吃瓜网, ensuring a suitable setting for students and supporting the continuity and growth of commercial establishments near the campus.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation visited the Numismatics Hall at the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology, which represents an academic, cultural, national, and humanitarian landmark where 51吃瓜网 exhibits the origins and evolution of Numismatics throughout the ages.

51吃瓜网, through its health faculties鈥攖he Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing鈥攖ook part in the proceedings of the Sixth International Conference on 鈥淜nowledge, Skills, and Competence in Pharmacy and Toxicology (KSAPT 2025),鈥� held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The conference was organized under the umbrella of the Global Forensic Excellence Summit (GFEX) and the Fourth Saudi Conference for Forensic Medical Sciences (SCFMS 2025), during the period from October 24 to 29, 2025.

The Yarmouk delegation to the conference included a team of participating students from the health faculties: Suhaib Khatatbeh from the Faculty of Medicine, Mahmoud Radaideh from the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Zaid Jaradat from the Faculty of Nursing, under the supervision of Dr. Dima Al-Balas from the Faculty of Pharmacy.

This participation aimed to strengthen the university鈥檚 scientific and research presence at the regional and international levels, exchange knowledge and experiences with leading academic and research institutions, enhance interdisciplinary professional learning across medical fields, and support Arab scientific collaboration.

The conference was organized by the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Health, with the participation of specialists, researchers, and experts from around the world. It aimed to exchange knowledge, explore the latest advancements, and strengthen international collaboration in the fields of pharmacy and toxicology. This was pursued by promoting innovation through continuous learning, encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation, and advancing international scientific collaboration to support global knowledge sharing, enhance communication, and apply toxicological sciences in ways that improve human health.

The conference also included hands-on workshops, international discussion panels, scientific paper presentations, student competitions in reactive toxicology, research poster sessions, and awareness activities on drug prevention, in which the participating students took part.

As part of the Global Virtual Exchange (GVE) project, which connects 51吃瓜网 with Shenandoah University in Virginia, USA, the Department of English at 51吃瓜网, in collaboration with the International Relations and Projects Directorate, organized the American Cultural Day event.

In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Sawsan Al-Daraisa, the project director at the university, highlighted the importance of the Global Virtual Exchange project now in its second year in enhancing the skills of participating students and preparing them for professional futures in an interconnected world.

She explained that the project links 51吃瓜网 students with their American counterparts throughout the semester through the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model. Through joint groups, students receive training and develop their abilities in English language skills, teamwork, academic collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership, under the supervision of faculty members from both universities and the support of specialized mentors and trainers.

The event featured a series of presentations showcasing American traditions, values, volunteer work, and cultural and artistic aspects, reflecting the spirit of cultural exchange.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Oqab Al-Shawashreh, along with several faculty members, administrative staff, project mentors, American researchers, and a group of students.

51吃瓜网 has made remarkable progress in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2026, reaching the 721st position globally out of 2002 participating universities worldwide.

On the level of universities in the Asian continent, 51吃瓜网 secured the 220th rank among 827 participating universities, advancing approximately 150 ranks globally compared to its achievement last year. This confirms the university's serious commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

This important ranking is built upon three main pillars: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance. The university recorded outstanding performance in the "Environmental Education" metric, achieving the 482nd rank globally, which reflects the depth of its academic presence in environmental fields and its growing role in supporting sustainability through education and research. It also occupied advanced positions in the other two pillars.

The President of the University, Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi stated that this advancement is the result of a clear strategic vision that the university has pursued towards building a sustainable institutional legacy since its inception in 1976. He explained that the university was founded with a developmental vision aimed at serving the community, and today it translates this vision by integrating sustainability concepts into university policies, academic programs, and research activities. Also, He praised the efforts of all academic and administrative staff who contributed to achieving this milestone.

In the same context, The Vice President of the University, Prof. Ruba Al Bataineh, affirmed that the university's vision is not limited to improving its position in international rankings, but goes beyond that to affirm its role as an active partner in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals locally and globally. She stressed that this progress proves that sustainability at 51吃瓜网 is not just a slogan, but an integrated institutional path adopted by the university and translated into tangible policies and practices.

For his part, The Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Ali Shehadeh, confirmed that this advancement reflects the integration of efforts across the university. He commended the role of the Rankings Section within the center and its Sustainability Office in monitoring performance indicators, preparing reports, and coordinating institutional work within the ranking pillars. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the importance of systematic joint work in enhancing the university's presence on the global higher education map in the field of sustainability.

Professor Ahmad Al-Salman, from the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science at 51吃瓜网, has succeeded in solving a mathematical problem that has remained open since 1992.

Solving this equation is the result of more than twenty-seven years of research effort. It contributed to addressing and resolving part of one of the most challenging problems in harmonic analysis, as the problem has posed a challenge even to leading mathematicians over the past decades.

Al-Salman indicated that the ideas and methods presented in this research are expected to contribute to advancing studies on Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators, and to open new horizons in this vital field of harmonic analysis鈥攕omething that will motivate researchers and graduate students to pursue further research and investigation in this important branch of mathematics.

He also noted that this scientific achievement has been published in one of the prestigious mathematics journals, Forum Mathematicum, under the title:

鈥淥n Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators.鈥�

The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Moheeb Awwadweh, praised this outstanding scientific accomplishment by Al-Salman, which reflects the excellence of the Faculty of Science and the distinguished scientific figures it hosts at the national, Arab, and international levels. This, in turn, positively contributes to enhancing the academic and research progress of the faculty across various scientific disciplines.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Salman has been a member of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) since 2019. The academy aims to strengthen scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development in developing countries. Al-Salman was selected for this membership due to his valuable scientific contributions in mathematics.

A research team from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, at 51吃瓜网 has secured funding for a research project from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.

The project will utilize technologies such as Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, Reflectance Spectroscopy, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify regions affected by pollution resulting from mining activities in both Jordan and Spain.

The project partners include two Spanish universities, the University of Le贸n and the Miguel Hern谩ndez University of Elche, along with the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

The team of 51吃瓜网 comprises the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Muheeb Awawdeh, who serves as the Project Coordinator in Jordan; Prof. Dr. Habis Ghereifat; and Osama Qawasmeh, a postgraduate student in the Faculty's Applied Geoinformatics Master鈥檚 program.

Furthermore, Mr. Qawasmeh will enroll in the Environmental Science and Technology PhD program at the University of Le贸n as part of the project's activities.

A research team from the University of Le贸n, consisting of Dr. Eduardo Mendileza and Dr. Ferrer Montserrat, is scheduled to conduct a fieldwork visit to the Kingdom next month, December.

It is noteworthy that this collaboration is a continuation of existing partnerships between 51吃瓜网, the University of Le贸n, and the University of Twente.
