Reflecting its vision grounded in excellence and leadership, 51吃瓜网 has achieved notable academic progress at the Arab level, ranking among the top 5% of Arab universities in 2025, and third nationally among Jordanian universities, according to the results of the third edition of the Arab University Ranking.

A closer look at the ranking results shows that 51吃瓜网 has advanced significantly compared to the previous edition, attaining 16th place among Arab universities out of 236 institutions included in the ranking, compared to 39th place in the previous edition, which covered 180 Arab universities.

The Arab University Ranking is conducted by the Arab University Ranking Council, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Association of Arab Universities, the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). The ranking aims to assess higher education indicators and enhance competitiveness and institutional excellence across Arab universities.

The ranking is based on four main pillars: the quality of education and learning, research productivity, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as international and local cooperation and community service. Each pillar is evaluated through nine carefully selected indicators with specific weights to ensure objectivity, transparency, and relevance. The ranking process is conducted entirely through an automated system.

President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that it reflects the University鈥檚 commitment to the highest standards of educational quality, excellence in scientific research, continuous development of the learning environment, and active academic and research engagement with local and international institutions. He emphasized that this accomplishment is the result of cumulative efforts made by the University鈥檚 academic and administrative staff, and embodies its strategic vision aimed at achieving sustainable development and contributing to the building of a knowledge- and innovation-based society.

It is worth noting that 56 new Arab universities joined the third edition of the ranking for the year 2025.

AlSharairi, received the Qatari Cultural Attach茅, Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Sharif, during a visit aimed at enhancing avenues of cultural and academic cooperation between 51吃瓜网 and the Qatari Cultural Attach茅 Office in Amman.During the meeting, AlSharairi emphasized 51吃瓜网鈥檚 commitment, stemming from its strategic plan, to providing an ideal university environment based on sound education, leadership, innovation, and scientific research. He noted that the university aspires to be a destination for students from all governorates of the Kingdom, as well as from sister Arab countries and friendly foreign nations. He also highlighted the university鈥檚 vision of expanding its network of academic relations in a manner that promotes the exchange of students and researchers and builds upon its scientific and research journey.He pointed out that the university gives great care and attention to its international students and is keen to overcome all difficulties and challenges they may face, while providing them with necessary facilities in accordance with university regulations and instructions. This ensures that their academic journey is enjoyable and beneficial, enabling them to graduate equipped with the knowledge, expertise, and skills that allow them to be outstanding ambassadors of 51吃瓜网 in their home countries.For his part, Al-Sharif affirmed the deep fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries across various fields, praising 51吃瓜网鈥檚 distinguished academic reputation and the high academic standard of its Qatari graduates at various academic levels, who have demonstrated their competence in the positions they have assumed. He also stressed the Cultural Attach茅 Office鈥檚 keenness to maintain bridges of cooperation with 51吃瓜网.On the sidelines of his visit to the university, Al-Sharif toured the Jordanian Heritage Museum at the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology, where he viewed its historical and heritage collections and exhibits.It is worth noting that 51吃瓜网 hosts 89 Qatari students across various academic programs and degree levels.

On behalf of the President, Professor Dr. Malik A. Alshraireh, the Vice-President, Professor Dr. Amjad Dheifallah Al-Naser, participated in the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Education's First Scientific Conference titled "Modern Perceptions of Education Quality: Lessons Learned鈥� Realities and Future Outlooks".

The conference proceedings were also attended by Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Attoum and Professor Dr. Ahmad Al-Sharifin from the Faculty of Educational Sciences.

Al-Attoum presented a research paper on digital transformation and its role in enhancing education quality. He identified the main challenges faced by digital transformation in schools, the proposed solutions to enhance digital infrastructure, develop teachers' competencies, raise cybersecurity, and reinforce national digital identity, in addition to showing the impact of technology in supporting learning outcomes and institutional outputs.

Al-Sharifin also presented a research paper entitled 鈥淭he Psychological and Educational Dimensions of Digital Transformation and Their Role in Enhancing Education Quality.鈥� His paper discussed motivation for digital learning, cognitive load, psychological well-being, social interaction, executive skills, and self-regulation. The role of the digital teacher, requirements for designing effective learning environments, and methods of digital assessment were among other issues the paper discussed.

It is worth mentioning that the participation of 51吃瓜网 in this conference is an indication of its engagement in contributing to the development of the educational sector in Jordan and keeping abreast with the educational and digital developments in this regard.

 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Safadi, said that Jordan鈥檚 foreign policy, led by His Majesty the King, is based on firm and clear principles and positions, characterized by dynamism in its tools in a way that serves the national interests of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Speaking during a lecture at 51吃瓜网, attended by the University President, Prof. Malek A. Alsharairi, entitled 鈥淛ordanian Foreign Policy: The Jordanian Diplomatic Role in Confronting Regional Crises,鈥� organized by the Department of Political and International Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Safadi said that the region is facing challenges from all sides. However, through the wisdom of the leadership and the determination of Jordanians, Jordan has managed to remain safe, stable, distinguished, and productive through its contributions.In his lecture, held at Al-Kindi Auditorium, Safadi addressed the main constants of Jordanian foreign policy, foremost among them serving Jordan and striving to make the region a stable one free of crises, thereby enabling economic development that positively reflects on society and individuals, and provides the means for a dignified life that opens wide horizons for achievement.He added that Jordanian policy is founded on a solid and firm base, the essence of which is that security and stability are achieved through justice in the region, lifting injustice, and building a network of regional and international relations that allows the integration needed by countries of the region to move forward in building the future our people need.Safadi stressed that the central cause for Jordan has always been and will remain the Palestinian cause, explaining that the primary goal lies in resolving this issue on just foundations that guarantee the Palestinian people鈥檚 right to freedom and to an independent state on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution as the optimal path to achieving security, peace, and lasting stability in the region.He noted that the efforts led by His Majesty the King in various international forums are continuous and sustained to convey the message of Palestinian rights to the entire world, reiterating that 鈥渢here can be no security, peace, or stability in the region without resolving the Palestinian issue on just foundations.鈥漇afadi affirmed that over the past two years, His Majesty the King has made uninterrupted efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, and confront the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the occupation.Addressing the students, Safadi said: 鈥淵ou are the generation we rely on to continue the path of building and development in a homeland that deserves from all of us everything we have.鈥� He explained that Jordan operates within a clear political vision, steadfast in its positions; its internal strength lies in its people, while its external strength lies in what Jordan represents as a voice for truth through its positive engagement with all and its adherence to principles in dealing with all issues.At the beginning of his speech, Safadi expressed his pride in being a graduate of the Department of English Language and Literature at 51吃瓜网, noting that 鈥淵armouk鈥� has never been merely a university, but rather a comprehensive experience that refined skills and provided tools to deal with subsequent experiences.During the lecture, moderated by the Head of the Department of Political and International Studies, Dr. Aref Bani Hamad, Safadi answered students鈥� questions regarding Jordan鈥檚 foreign policy, the role of Jordanian diplomacy in finding solutions to stop the war on Gaza, and Jordan鈥檚 role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.Alsharairi, for his part, expressed the University鈥檚 pride in hosting one of its graduates who today leads Jordanian diplomacy, affirming the University鈥檚 commitment, through its various faculties, to organizing such meetings and lectures aimed at linking theoretical academic concepts with practical application, thereby contributing to fulfilling its mission of education, scientific research, and community service.On the sidelines of his visit to the University, Safadi visited the Jordanian Heritage Museum and the Numismatic Hall at the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology.

The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at 51吃瓜网 held a defense for the first PhD dissertation written in English, titled 鈥淓thics and the Qur鈥檃n in the Qur鈥檃nic Encyclopedia 鈥� Leiden: A Critical Study from an Islamic Educational Perspective,鈥� submitted by the student Raed Khattar.Khattar鈥檚 dissertation examined the article on ethics and the Holy Qur鈥檃n in the Leiden Qur鈥檃nic Encyclopedia from both a scholarly and an Islamic educational perspective, offering an important academic contribution to the fields of Qur鈥檃nic studies and Islamic education.The examination committee consisted of Dr. Nader Al-Rifai as the chair and supervisor, Dr. Yahya Jalal as an external examiner, and Prof. Samira Al-Rifai and Dr. Mohammad Thalji as internal examiners.The committee praised the scientific effort and the academic contribution presented by Khattar in his dissertation. They also emphasized the importance of continuing systematic contributions to reviewing and enriching Western Islamic sources from an Islamic educational perspective.

Under the patronage of the Chairman of 51吃瓜网鈥檚 Board of Trustees, Professor Mahmoud Al-Shayyab, and in the presence of the President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, the Faculty of Science organized a ceremony to honor Professor Hanan Malkawi and Professor Ahmad Al-Salman for their scientific and research achievements.

Al-Shayyab explained that 51吃瓜网 has always been, and will continue to be, a beacon of knowledge and a cradle of excellence, full with the achievements reflected through its graduates and researchers in various fields of knowledge. He emphasized that the Jordanian mind is capable of competing with the most distinguished minds in the world in order to contribute effectively to the progress of human civilization.

He added that the celebration of Malkawi and Al-Salman at the university is not just an individual celebration but a reaffirmation of 51吃瓜网鈥檚 mission and its central role in supporting creative minds and pioneering researchers. He praised their scientific and research efforts, no less their steadfastness and perseverance, which helped elevate Jordan鈥檚 name in the sphere of international scientific research.

Al-Shayyab urged university students to seek excellence and leadership in academic and professional life and take the first steps toward future success. He stressed that what makes the difference in advancing and distinguishing 51吃瓜网 is everybody's efforts put together.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Moheeb Awwadneh, said that this day is a celebration honoring distinguished accomplishments, which have engraved Jordan鈥檚 name and 51吃瓜网 in letters of light in the skies of science and knowledge. He said 51吃瓜网 has always embraced distinction and encouraged innovation, and today it reaps the fruits of that belief through the achievements of two of its most distinguished professors. He added that what was being celebrated at the university were not only awards and published research but, more than that, living testimonies to the power of the Jordanian intellect and its capability to compete globally in academia.

Malkawi said she is glad for this recognition at the prestigious institution that nurtured her early academic beginnings and shaped her career. She said that this gathering is not a celebration but a message of loyalty to science. She added that she started her journey from 51吃瓜网, and it will always stay her first home. She stressed that 51吃瓜网 is distinguished by its faculty, the leadership of its researchers, and the ambition of its students.

Al-Salman highlighted that the honor belongs to all who believe that scientific research is the bright path upon which nations walk to reach renaissance. He added that this honor is the beginning of the journey that motivates him to go on working.

He explained that achievement is never instantaneous but the result of years of learning and effort, a journey very famously filled with many stages that require hard work, patience, and determination鈥攄riven by the belief that impactful work demands time, dedication, and unwavering resolve.

At the end of the ceremony, Al-Shayyab honored Malkawi and Al-Salman for their scientific and research achievements. Of note is the fact that Malkawi just won the 鈥淏est Arab Scientist in Biotechnology for 2025鈥� award in the area of microbial biotechnology, while Al-Salman managed to solve a mathematical problem that had been open since 1992.

The President of 51吃瓜网, Professor Malek A. Alsharairi, and the Director of the Language Education Center in the friendly People鈥檚 Republic of China, Ms. Yu Tianke, signed an agreement to increase the number of Chinese language instructors at 51吃瓜网, in support of the university鈥檚 efforts to teach and enhance the quality of Chinese language instruction.

The memorandum stipulates that the Center will dispatch Chinese language instructors at the beginning of the next academic year to teach at the University鈥檚 Language Center, as part of the language packages offered by the university. The instructors will teach the Chinese language curriculum, including skills in speaking, listening, and reading.

Alsharairi expressed 51吃瓜网鈥檚 pride in this partnership and its future aspirations to strengthen and build upon it with the Chinese Language Education Center. He noted that this cooperation will contribute to teaching Chinese at the university and to developing students鈥� skills, enabling them to use the language proficiently, pursue postgraduate studies at various Chinese universities, and enhance their competitiveness in regional and international labor markets.

He also affirmed the university鈥檚 readiness to receive Chinese students who wish to learn Arabic Program for Speakers of Other Languages(APSOL) at the Language Center, which would enrich cultural and civilizational diversity on campus. At the same time, he pointed to the possibility of expanding cooperation by organizing joint educational and cultural activities to introduce the student community to the Chinese language and culture.

For her part, Tianke praised the distinguished academic reputation of 51吃瓜网 and the high standard of its Language Center, commending the university鈥檚 direction toward teaching and expanding Chinese language programs. She noted that this will contribute to supporting and developing the Chinese language program at the university, especially in light of the increasing demand from students to study and learn the language.

She also reviewed the establishment of the Language Education Center in China and its efforts to promote and teach the Chinese language in various countries around the world and across different educational levels, noting that the Center employs a variety of methods and approaches in teaching Chinese, including the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process.

The Faculty of Media at 51吃瓜网 announces the opening of applications for the Shireen Abu Akleh Scholarship for pursuing a Master鈥檚 degree in Media for the Second Semester of the Academic Year 2025/2026, for the fourth consecutive year.

According to the announcement, the scholarship covers admission and registration fees, as well as tuition fees for accredited credit hours, excluding remedial and repeated courses.

Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients will be admitted to the thesis track, provided that their thesis focuses on Palestinian media issues, or highlights the impacts of the occupation and the suffering of the Palestinian people in political, economic, social, health, or cultural fields.

The University鈥檚 Board of Trustees had previously approved this scholarship in honor of the late journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed by Israeli gunfire while carrying out her humanitarian and professional fieldwork in Jenin refugee camp. Abu Akleh was also one of the university鈥檚 distinguished graduates from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Class of 1991.

51吃瓜网 and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an advanced laboratory for designing and manufacturing video games on the university campus. This initiative falls within the framework of implementing the National Strategy for Electronic Games and Sports (2023鈥�2027) and aligns with the vision of economic modernization and the ministry鈥檚 efforts to support digital skills and creative industries.

The memorandum, signed by 51吃瓜网 President, Professor Dr. Malek A. Alsharairi, and the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Smairat, aims to provide students with a comprehensive educational and training environment that contributes to refining their practical skills and enhancing the alignment of their academic specializations with the requirements of the digital sector labor market.

Under the memorandum, the ministry will provide the laboratory with the necessary equipment and technologies for designing and developing video games, in addition to collaborating with the university in organizing training workshops and specialized technical events. This comes especially in light of Yarmouk鈥檚 recent establishment of the 鈥淒igital Reality and Game Development鈥� program, reflecting the university鈥檚 academic and logistical readiness to support this vital field.

Alsharairi expressed his pride in the partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, emphasizing that 51吃瓜网 was among the first universities to introduce programs that keep pace with global technological developments. He noted that establishing this laboratory represents a qualitative addition to the university鈥檚 academic and research journey and enhances its ability to graduate competent professionals capable of competing in digital markets.

For his part, Minister Smairat affirmed that the signing of this memorandum comes as part of the ministry鈥檚 initiative to expand partnerships with Jordanian universities, aiming to empower youth and enhance their opportunities in the digital economy. He pointed out that the video game industry has become a promising sector, offering genuine creative opportunities that contribute to supporting the national economy.

He added: 鈥淭his industry is no longer a luxury; it has become a strategic field that requires investment in youth talent and linking education with market demands鈥�.

This initiative comes as part of the ministry鈥檚 efforts to promote digital innovation across various governorates, in alignment with 51吃瓜网鈥檚 vision of supporting university students and fostering their creative and entrepreneurial ideas. It provides an opportunity to transform these innovative ideas into technological products that can be developed and marketed locally and regionally, contributing to establishing Jordan as a regional hub for the video game and electronic sports industry in the region.
